Even if you’ve never heard the term “biohacking,” you’ve almost certainly come across some form of it. Perhaps you’ve heard a lot of nutritionists preach about the benefits of intermittent fasting and sipping salt juice every morning, or terminology like dopaminefasting.

Biohacking, also known as human augmentation or enhancement, is a type of do-it-yourself biology that aims to improve performance, health, and well-being by intentional interventions. Meditation and intermittent fasting are two common biohacking practices that have been around since ancient times.

Significance of Biohacking:

Some do it because they do not feel well and want to seek treatment outside of standard care. Others want to use engineering to test out new ideas and have complete control over their bodies. Whereas, few use it in order to try to slow down the ageing process.

Intermittent Fasting:

Intermittent fasting can be done in a variety of ways, but the most straightforward is to simply lengthen the night fasting period. For intermittent fasting, a daily cycle of a 16-hour fast followed by an 8-hour eating window is usually sustainable. It must be used in conjunction with nutritious, well-balanced meals. The purpose of intermittent fasting is to starve the body for long enough to activate fat metabolism, however, it is not for everyone. Intermission fasting, when done correctly, can aid weight loss, lower blood pressure and cholesterol, prevent or control diabetes, and improve brain function.

Elimination:

An elimination diet is one in which you eliminate foods based on medical studies to observe how you react to them. You can usually begin by removing the most common food allergens for a few weeks, then gradually reintroduce them one at a time, noting whether your symptoms improve or worsen. The biggest advantage is that by looking at how your body reacts to different foods, you might identify food sensitivities and intolerances that you might not be aware of otherwise. Standard allergy testing is more expensive and, in some situations, less trustworthy.

Include Superfoods in your diet:

The addition of superfoods is another good biohacking means. There is a long list of superfoods, each with its own set of advantages. Seeds are the first category of superfoods. Chia and flax seeds are two seeds that should be included in one’s diet. Chia seeds are a good source of omega 3 fatty acids, contain more calcium than milk, and have anti-inflammatory chemicals. They’re fantastic for improving skin, mental health, clarity, and a whole lot more. Flaxseeds are a good source of omega 3 fats, dietary fiber, critical vitamins, minerals, and lignans, which are strong anti-cancer hormone-balancing substances. It’s also a fantastic approach to getting rid of constipation.

Fiber augmentation:

The typical fiber in our bodies has been depleted solely as a result of food processing. Adding extra fruits and vegetables to our diet is one of the best ways to increase our fiber intake. Fiber helps you lose weight and keep your bowel movements regular. It also aids in the reduction of cholesterol and blood sugar.
