Corona’s fourth wave has already arrived in numerous European and Asian countries. Its blaze has now been spreading to India as well. Since last week, the number of new cases in the country has begun to rise again. Corona is making the majority of the children its victims this time. The appearance of a new variant indicates a higher level of protection and preventative precautions.

It is a prevalent belief that a new strain will always be more powerful than its predecessors for a variety of reasons. The mutant XE is more transmissible than prior strains, including the Omicron BA.1 and BA.2, particularly among the vaccinated. Because a substantial percentage of children are still unvaccinated, they are at risk of contracting the virus.

However, experts have suggested that there is no need to panic but at the same time, it is very important to remain vigilant. Experts suggest that its symptoms are mild and should be taken care of. In this context, it is important to understand how this variant is targeting children and how can we keep them safe?

Why children are more vulnerable?

The matter of concern is that the XE variant transmits more rapidly than the other variants found so far. Since a large section of children is still uninfected and unvaccinated, they are more vulnerable to this variant.

However, doctors tell that symptoms in children are usually mild and include upper respiratory tract symptoms such as fever, runny nose, sore throat, body aches and pains, and dry cough.
