DIY Hair Pack (Dandruff & Dry Scalp)

  • Yogurt, Honey, And Lemon

The citric acid in lemon juice can help to adjust the pH of hair. Yogurt can help in repairing hair damage, dryness, and dullness by conditioning your hair. The topical application of honey can help in improving conditions like dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.

Ingredients

1/2 cup yogurt

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon honey

Method

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl to get a smooth mixture.

Apply this mixture to your hair, starting at the roots and working down to the tips.

Cover the entire scalp and hair in the mask

Wash the hair mask off with a mild sulfate-free shampoo after 25 minutes

  • Fenugreek Hair Mask

Fenugreek is one of the most common remedies for dandruff. It has strong antifungal properties that boost scalp health and tackle dandruff.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons fenugreek seeds

Half tablespoon lemon juice

Method

Soak 2 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in water overnight.

In the morning, blend the seeds with water to get a smooth paste.

Add half a tablespoon of lemon juice to this paste.

Apply this hair pack to your hair, starting at the roots and working down to the tips.

4 tablespoons pure aloe vera gel

2 drops eucalyptus essential oil

Method

Combine four tablespoons of pure aloe vera gel with two to three drops of eucalyptus oil.

Apply this hair pack, starting at the roots and working down to the tip. Focus on your scalp.

Cover scalp and hair are entirely in the mask

Rinse the hair mask off under cool/lukewarm running water after an hour.

Repeat it 2-3 times a week

Combine the ingredients in a jug and set it aside.

Rinse your hair under running water and then pour the green tea rinse through it.

Leave the rinse on for 5 minutes while massaging your scalp.

Wash your hair with a mild sulphate-free shampoo and condition after 10 mins.

  • Coconut Oil

3 tablespoons coconut oil

Method

Heat coconut oil until it is slightly warm.

Start massaging the warm coconut oil into your scalp with your fingertips.

Massage your scalp for about 15 minutes, and once the whole scalp is covered, work the rest of the oil into the hair.

Wait for 30 minutes with the oil in your hair.

Wash the oil out with a mild sulphate-free shampoo.

Repeat it once a week.

  • Banana, Honey, Lemon, And Olive Oil

It is an excellent mask for dry hair. Banana can help condition hair and control dandruff. Olive oil can help make your hair soft and strengthen it. The citric acid in lemon juice can help balance hair’s pH. Honey can help in reducing dandruff.

Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method

Mash two ripe bananas in a bowl to obtain a lump-free paste.

Add a tablespoon of olive oil, honey, and lemon juice to the mashed banana. Mix well to get a consistent paste.

Apply this to your scalp and hair and leave it in for 30 minutes.

Wash your hair with a mild sulphate-free shampoo.

Repeat it once a week.

  • Avocado, Honey, Olive oil Hair Mask 

Avocados are rich in antioxidants that help maintain scalp health. It soothes the scalp and restores lustre to hair. Olive oil softens and strengthens the hair.

Ingredients

1 ripe avocado

2 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons olive oil

Method

Mash a ripe avocado with a fork in a bowl to get a lump-free appearance.

Add two tablespoons each of honey and olive oil to the mashed avocado. Mix until well combined.

Apply this hair pack to your hair, starting at the roots and working down to the tips.

Cover scalp and hair in the mask

Wash the hair mask off with a mild shampoo after 45 mins.

2 egg yolks

To half a cup of oatmeal, mix 3 tablespoons of warm milk with 1 tablespoon of warm almond oil. 

Massage this paste over the scalp in a circular motion

Leave it for an hour and wash off with warm water.

Repeat once-twice a week

  • Coconut Oil and Cinnamon Hair Mask 

Coconut oil relieves mild to moderate atopic dermatitis. Hence, it helps in getting rid of dandruff. Coconut oil penetrates the hair shaft easily and reduces hair damage. Cinnamon has antimicrobial property that helps hair growth, removes dandruff, curbs hair loss, and strengthens hair follicles as well. 1 tablespoon of Coconut Oil

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Method

Mix the ingredients in a bowl to get a paste

Part your hair down the center and start by applying it down and on your scalp.

Use fingertips to massage the product into your scalp

Tie your hair up and cover with a shower cap or a towel

Let this mask sit for 30-40 minutes

Rinse it with regular shampoo and conditioner.

This mask is effective if used once a week.
