Healthy Recipes High In Calorie To Gain Weight Fast

by Arpita Wadhawan

If you’re on the nether side of weight, then you need to indulge in some high calorie but healthy recipes that will help you pile on some weight correctly. High calorie doesn’t mean unhealthy. A high-calorie diet contains higher amounts of proteins and other nutrients. A diet of junk-food snacks may cause weight gain, but this food doesn’t provide nutrients to improve your health or well-being. Dried fruits, cheese, nuts, wheat germ, avocados, olive oil, and milk add calories and provide healthy versions of carbohydrates, protein, and fats. Aim for three solid meals and two or three snacks every day. Carry snacks with you so you don’t miss a meal. Increase portion sizes at meals, and drink calories from milk, 100-percent juice, and smoothies.

Here are some healthy high-calorie recipes:

Pasta with Tuna and Tomato Sauce

  • Pasta 454 grams
  • Tomatoes Crushed, canned 850 grams
  • Butter Unsalted 4 tbsp
  • Parmesan cheese Grated 1/2 cup or 50 grams
  • Tuna 170 grams
  • Ricotta cheese 1/2 cup or 124 grams
  • Salt to taste
  • Basil Fresh 1/4 cup leaves

  • Chop or tear fresh basil.
  • Melt the butter in a medium pot on medium heat and add the can of tomatoes, including the juice. If you are using whole canned tomatoes (or fresh ones) crush them with your (clean) fingers as you put them in the pot. Simmer gently, partially covered, for 30 minutes.
  • Once the sauce is cooking, heat a large pot of well-salted water to a strong boil. Add the shell pasta to the boiling water and cook at a vigorous boil, uncovered, until al dente, cooked through but still a bit firm to the bite, which is usually whatever the time specified on the pasta package minus about 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Pour off the excess oil from the tuna can and stir the tuna into the tomato sauce. Add the ricotta cheese, and add salt to taste. Turn off the heat. Mix the sauce with the pasta in a large bowl. Mix in the basil.
  • Pour the pasta into a 2 to 3-quart casserole dish and top with the parmesan cheese. Put under a hot broiler for 4-6 minutes, until the cheese is melted and lightly browned. Serve hot.

Date, Almond, and Cocoa Bliss Balls

  • Dates pitted 576 grams
  • Almonds 3/4 cup, sliced
  • Cocoa 1/3 cup or 28.7 grams
  • Coconut oil 2 tbsp

  • Place the dates, almonds, cocoa, and coconut oil in a food processor and process for 2–3 minutes or until the mixture comes together.
  • Roll tablespoons of the mixture into balls and roll in extra cocoa to coat (makes about 22 balls). Store in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
