Diseases caused due to hypertension:

  • Hypertension is the most common cause of heart stroke.
  • Just as it is necessary for the health of our heart to keep the flow of blood normal and healthy, in the same way, it is also necessary for the development of our brain. But when blood pressure rises, oxygen is interrupted in a part of the brain, which causes a stroke.
  •  It becomes the cause of dementia. Apart from this, the risk of brain haemorrhage increases by 50 per cent from high BP also.
  • Kidneys act as a filter in the body and remove the dirt present in the blood. But the kidney also fails due to high blood pressure. Due to high BP, the major arteries leading to the kidney get damaged. In such a situation, the kidney is unable to filter the blood and waste accumulates in it.
  • Hypertension also has a bad effect on the eyes as well. Due to high BP, the vessels present in the eyes get damaged. Because of this, blood cannot reach the retina.In such a situation, bleeding starts from the eye. In some cases, it also becomes the cause of eyesight loss.

Apart from this, cycling or jogging at a moderate to a brisk pace for 40 minutes three to four days a week can reduce blood pressure by up to 10 points. According to the CDC, exercising for 30 minutes a day, even 5 days a week, can reduce blood pressure by up to 8 points.

  • Pineapple: Potassium is found in abundance in pineapple. Potassium reduces hypertension.

  • Pulses and Beans: Various researches related to blood pressure support that pulses and legumes are beneficial for these hypertension patients. They contain fibre, magnesium and potassium, which reduce high blood pressure.
