Busy schedule, polluted environment, continuous eye-related work may cause dry eyes. And its a big problem as it hamper your quality of life. Dry eye syndrome is a condition in which the eyes do not produce enough tears. when your tears aren’t able to provide adequate lubrication for your eyes. Tears can be inadequate for many reasons. even bad quality tears lead to dry eyes. one may feel uncomfortable, sting if have dry eyes. one may experience dry eyes in certain situations, such as long hours sitting in a.c room, driving, sitting in an airplane.
 You need to know about dry eyes syndrome: its causes, symptoms, complications, and preventions.
Cause of dry eyes:
Dry eyes are caused by a lack of adequate tears. tears are a complex mixture of fatty oils, and mucus. This mixture helps eyes to be smooth and clear, and it helps protect your eyes from infection and dryness.
Dry eyes can be because of decreased tear production or increased tear evaporation and an imbalance in the makeup of your tears.
Decreased tear production:
it is mainly due to
Aging, retinal therapy, Lasik surgery, diabetic condition, tear gland damage.
Increased tear production:
Over blinking, the less blinking, wind, dry air, eyelid problem, smoke.
Imbalanced tear production:
The tear film has three layers: oil, water, and mucus. damage in any of these layers can cause dry eyes.
Symptoms of dry eyes
 1-Burning or sensation in your eyes
2-Stringy mucus in or around your eyes
3-Sensitivity to light
4-Eye redness
5-A sensation of having something in your eyes
6-Difficulty wearing contact lenses
7-Difficulty with nighttime driving
8-Watery eyes
9-Blurred vision

Stingy eyes:
If it irritates you all the time, that something is scratching into your eyes it may literally disturb you as a whole, it will hamper your activity.
Eye infections: 
  The main function of tears is to protect the surface of your eyes from infection. Without adequate tears, one may have an increased risk of eye infection.
Damage to the surface of your eyes: 
 Long term dry eyes may lead to eye inflammation, abrasion of the corneal surface, corneal ulcer and vision problems.
Decreased quality of life
Dry eyes can make it difficult to perform everyday activities, such as reading. which may hamper the quality of life.
How dry eyes can be prevented
 Well, it’s better to prevent something better than opting for a cure.
• Can take eye break during long eye-related work
• avoid polluted environment
• drive safely using glasses
•avoid smoking
• use artificial tears drop
• avoid air blowing in your eyes
•place your computer screen below your eye level.
