Most of her family was back in India so she was ready to go home. However, the decision to start her wellness studio was because she saw a serious need for that in India. Looking good is one thing however feeling good and being fit is an entirely different concept that was lacking in India. She wanted to bring the concept of wellness and fitness which is what is practiced in the West to India.
With over 14 years of experience in Pilates, yoga, personal training, and nutrition, Radhika Karle is one of the most sought-after fitness and wellness trainers in India. Radhika’s Balanced Body provides one-on-one nutrition counseling, Pilates training, and personal training. She is the proprietor of Radhika’s Balanced Body.
She holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition from the US. She has worked with professionals and college-level athletes in the US for nutrition counseling. She currently has a wide array of clients, from MNC executives to Bollywood actors. Balanced Body is located in Parle- Mumbai and provides customized nutrition plans as well as one-on-one focused workouts in a well-equipped, private studio.
Pilates work on the core muscles of the body. These 26 muscles are located in the abdominal and lower back area of the body. There is a strong connection between the mind and body, like Yoga. Hence, this mind-body relationship is the essence of Pilates practice.
Post her Masters in nutritional science, Karle turned to Pilates while pursuing a fellowship in adolescent and sports medicine in the USA. The fellowship helped Radhika to further develop her skills in leadership, teaching, research, clinical practice, and administration through a dynamic, intense, and interdisciplinary curriculum. Fast forward to 2020, this 42-year-old fitness guru is running a popular pilates studio, Balanced Body in Mumbai, and training Bollywood actors.
She’s recently added another feather to her cap with the launch of Pure & Healthy (Roli Books), a step-by-step cookbook written in collaboration with culinary expert Vidhu Mittal, which includes many easy to cook recipes that pack a nutritional punch. She also conducts corporate seminars and community workshops for a wide variety of groups covering many different aspects of nutrition.
