In Sanskrit, the Marigold flower or “the happiness flower” is known as Sthulapushpa, Zandu, and Genda. Its botanical name is Tagetes erecta. In Hindu culture, Marigold occupies a pious place. Hence, it is used for auspicious occasions – from being offered during puja to the decoration of the house during festivals. Its bright yellow/ orange color signifies the energy of the sun, a source of vitality and energy. Its presence in holy rituals is believed to help eliminate negative energies and lift the mood.

  • Marigold has a cooling property. Hence, it helps balance Pitta and Kapha dosha. It has a bitter taste.

  • Take 3 Marigold Flowers.
  • Separate the petals. Keep aside the light green cushion part of the flower. It fights against all types of skin infections.
  • Remove the black part from the petals.
  • Wash and grind the petals into a smooth paste.
  • Add 2-3 tbsp of water to make a fine paste.

Almond oil 80ml

1 large marigold flower

1 glass jar


Put almond oil in a jar and dip all the petals of the marigold flower.

Leave it in the jar for 15 days.

Strain away the petals with a cloth.

Massage the face with this oil at night.

Red Lentil Powder peels off the dead skin revealing smooth and bright skin texture. Raw milk is an instant and natural ingredient to lighten the skin. 1 Tbsp of Marigold Paste

1 Tsp of Red Lentil Powder

3 Tbsp of Raw Milk


Combine all the ingredients to make a smooth scrub like paste.

Wash it off with warm water to open the pores on the face.

Apply a thick layer of scrub on the face and neck.

Let it dry.

Dip your fingers in warm water and start scrubbing your face in a circular motion.

Scrubbing will help you to help you get rid of the dead skin and will give you radiant and glowing skin.

Use it twice a week.

  • Marigold Face Mask for Skin Lightening:

Licorice powder has a mild smoothening and brightening effect on the skin. It helps in curbing all types of hyperpigmentation. It leaves the skin brighter and clearer. Rosewater maintains the pH of the skin. It also controls excess oil and removes dirt accumulated on the skin. Rose reduces skin redness due to its anti-inflammatory properties.


1 Tbsp of Marigold Flower Paste.

1 Tsp of Licorice Powder.

1 Tsp Rose Water.


Combine all the ingredients and make a paste.

Apply on the face and neck.

Leave it to dry completely.

Rub in circular motions and remove from face and neck.

Wash off with normal water.

Use twice a week.

  • Marigold Face Mask for Removing Dark Spots

The high levels of PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid) present in rice powder act as a natural sunscreen. The allantoin in rice soothes sunburns and promotes skin repair. 1 Tbsp of Marigold Flower Paste.

1 Tsp of Rice Flour.

1/2 Tsp of Lemon Juice.


Mix all the ingredients to make a paste

Apply it on the face and neck.

Leave it to dry.

Remove it by rubbing in circular motions.

Use it thrice a week.

  • Marigold Face Pack (For Oily Skin)

Yogurt contains lactic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid that dissolves dead skin cells. It not only helps to create a natural glow and prevent breakouts but also diminishes the appearance of fine lines as well as wrinkles.


1 tbsp of Marigold flower paste

1 tbsp of yogurt

1/2 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp rose water


Mix all the ingredients to make a paste. 

Apply on the face and neck.

Let it dry.

Rinse it off with water.

  • Marigold Face Mask (Normal Skin)

Gram flour or Besan has been used for centuries for various skincare remedies. Besan makes our skin soft and supple by removing the dead skin layer. Raw milk contains Vitamin B, alpha hydroxy acids, calcium, and other potent antioxidants. It nourishes the skin cells deeply and keeps the skin moisturized.


1 tbsp Marigold flower paste

1 tbsp gram flour or Besan

1 tbsp raw milk


Mix all the ingredients well and apply on the face and neck area.

Let it dry completely.

Rinse off with lukewarm water.

Apply it thrice a week.

  • Marigold Face Mask (Sensitive Skin)

1Tbsp of Marigold Flower Paste.

1Tsp of Aloe Vera Gel.

1Tsp of Besan or Gram Flour.


Combine every ingredient to make a paste.

Apply on face and neck.

Let it dry.

Wash off with lukewarm water.

Repeat twice in a week.

  • Marigold Face Mask (Dry Skin)

Milk Cream is loaded with minerals and lactic acid. It enhances the complexion, deeply nourishes the skin and improves the skin texture.

Honey is an excellent antiaging agent as well as ia great moisturizer. It is loaded with natural antioxidants that have anti-microbial properties that make the skin smooth and supple.


1 tbsp marigold flower paste

1 tbsp fresh milk cream

1/2 tbsp honey


Mix all the ingredients well and apply on the face and neck.

Let it dry completely.

Remove the face mask by scrubbing in circular motions.

Wash it off with lukewarm water.
