One might cant even think that their internal liver damage can also affect their eyes. when someone has liver disease, the whites of their eyes are likely to become jaundiced, or yellow. In fact, when the skin or the eyes start to turn yellow, there are signs that life may have been damaged. liver disease can also cause other sight problems. These include xanthelasma, whereby small fatty collections start to appear on the eyelids, itchy, and dry eyes. symptoms of the cornea can also be affected. Hepatitis usually turns the whites of the eye yellow due to an overproduction of bilirubin, which is created when hemoglobin is broken down.

1- Whites of your eyes turns yellow
Generally, the healthy eye has off white color if you have yellowing around the eyeballs called ‘Scleral Icterus’ which means jaundice in the whites of your eyes. This can actually indicate liver scarring, liver damage or even liver disease. This happens when there are high levels in Bilirubin in the blood and your liver is unable to break down old blood cells.

 Bloodshot eyes can be experienced after a serious lack of sleep or a heavy weekend of drinking. alcohol consumption, smoking, high sugar foods, fatty foods and a lack of healthy fruit and vegetables in our diet can add toxin to your liver. The younger generation is more prone to this because of the higher consumption of alcohol. If you have continuously bloodshot eyes, it could be an indication of liver inflammation.
