More About Cindy Joudain

Founder of Cindy’s Bootcamp, Cindy Jourdain is a CrossFit coach and a qualified personal trainer. Cindy is popular for her intense workouts. She is a former professional French Ballerina who danced for both the English National Ballet and the Royal Ballet Company in London.

She held the lead role in the award-winning feature film, Love Tomorrow, performed as the guest Principal Ballerina in Take That’s “Progress Live” Tour. She had coordinated the ballet section of the Closing Ceremony of the 2012 Olympics Games in London. Her CV features further achievements in theatre, music, and choreography.

Cindy was raised by her military dad. At 11 years old she auditioned and got a place at the prestigious Paris Opera Ballet School. She stayed at the school for 5 years under Claude Bessy as an artistic director. She had to compete every year to stay in school. Despite being so close to one another and missing each other, her dad kept boosting her up throughout.

At 16, she got a scholarship to further her training for 2 years with the Royal Ballet School in London England. She started her professional ballet career at the age of 18, got her first principal role at the age of 20 in a famous Balanchine piece called ‘Apollo’, and went on to dance for the Royal Ballet and tour the world for 13 seasons in a row.

Her life for a long time revolved around her ballet schedule, her rehearsals, and shows and she trained around 6 hours a day most days of the week. Hitting 30 felt like the right time to bow out gracefully despite the love for the art form and not knowing anything else.

She was always curious and eager to explore other avatars and get different opportunities outside the theatre and the stage however that transition was probably even harder than leaving home as a little kid.

She got busy right away and got involved in films, plays, concerts, and big scale events in London. During that time, she retrained as a personal trainer and started getting more and more involved in the fitness industry. She spent 2 years traveling through Thailand, learning new skills from seasonal cross-fitters and muay Thai champions, practicing yoga, coaching people, and taking time for herself to recenter and recalibrate.

Then another chapter unfolded and fate brought her to India for the last 6 years. She got a call from her osteopath in London asking her to connect with Katrina Kaif, a Bollywood star. She flew Cindy over to Mumbai to train her for 3 weeks. 3 weeks turned into 3 months and the rest is history.

Cindy has looked after the training regime of some of the biggest stars of Bollywood and recently launched Cindy’s Bootcamp, her new fitness venture based in Mumbai as well as of Beyond Studio. Cindy believes that respecting the body strengthens the mind, soul, and improves the quality of life.

While working out with Bollywood celebs, Cindy makes sure that she always demonstrates fully. Sometimes she even joins the gang to keep them motivated and get a good workout herself.

She has hosted regular classes, workshops, and seminars with local and international guests. The studio aimed to open the doors to a wider spectrum of the Indian population from all walks of life and offer a wide variety of classes, giving equal opportunity for males and females to shine in one of their preferred medium and benefit from the guidance of some of the best in the industry.
